Our name tells who we are as Christians, and what our mission is as disciples of Christ.  We are baptized into the family of God in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  These three persons of God are known as the Trinity, which means three persons yet one God.  Evangelical means the proclaimer of Good News.  The Good News that we have to proclaim to the world is that Jesus Christ is Lord.  All who believe in him will have eternal life.  Lutheran is the name given to the reformers who attempted to change the Roman Catholic Church in the 1500’s.  Also named for one of the key leaders in the Reformation movement, Martin Luther.  Lutheran names a Christian denomination that has members world wide.  Our congregation is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.  Church identifies us as a part of the Body of Christ, through which the Good News of God’s saving grace and love is proclaimed and revealed in word and deed.
